It’s summertime – which means this month’s ‘Meeting’ is a social affair with our Annual Summer Potluck and fundraising for the Western Service Workers Association and their Back-to-School Drive. Sunday August 25, 2019 –  3:30-5:30PM  Please invite your friends and potential members to attend and meet fellow Democrats and elected officials, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Please bring school supplies, hand held calculators and backpacks or a generous check for the Western Service Workers Association Back-to-School Drive. If you cannot attend but wish to make a donation send a check to the Western Service Workers Association c/o of Point Loma Democratic Club, PO Box 7802, San Diego, CA 92167. Dec 1 – Come Join Us at the OB Holiday Parade “It’s a Wonderful Life”

This year we have a lot to celebrate. After all of the local election results we can agree, at least for a while – “It’s a Wonderful Life.” We don’t have a meeting at the Assembly in December, but we do march in the OB Parade! All members and their friends are invited to take part to celebrate our Blue Wave! Clubmember Jimmy Tabb will be driving his Gran Torino convertible, and we’ll have a truck and a boat! Dress blue, make yourself glow, be sure you’re well lit (!) We’ll be joined by Jen Campbell, our newly elected City Councilmember for District 2. We’ll have a pre-parade party a few blocks away from the parade starting at 3pm, address provided when you RSVP by emailing us at [email protected] We’ll gather between Sunset and Ebers on Newport (section A) at 4:30pm ready for the Parade start at 5:05pm. Nov 25 – Meet Jennifer Campbell Our Newly Elected Representative for District 2!

True to her word, Dr. Jen Campbell is coming to our first meeting after the election to listen to her community in District 2. I will listen to the concerns of our neighbors throughout District 2. My goal is to work together to improve our communities, preserve and maintain our City’s positive attributes, beautify areas that need enhancement, and bring about an even better San Diego. – Dr. Jen Campbell Come along to celebrate Jen’s election victory, and to discuss policies and priorities for her first year in office. Nathan Fletcher, our newly elected representative for the County Board of Supervisors District 4, has also been invited but at this time we’re still awaiting confirmation from his office. After the opening statements were made, Dev conducted a 15-minute Q & A session, using her own questions and a selection submitted by Club Members.
