January 26 – General Meeting – Ballot Party, Propositions & Measures, Bring Your Friends and Neighbors

Election time is fast approaching! March 3, 2020 is the Presidential Primary. Vote by mail ballots have already been sent to military and overseas voters. San Diego mail ballots will start arriving after February 3, 2020. We’re planning a GO Team kick-off for volunteers in Point Loma, Ocean Beach and Midway the first weekend in February. The voter registration deadline is February 18, 2020. This Sunday January 26th at our General Meeting we’ll be talking through the Propositions and Ballot Measures. To help us understand the State Propositions and Local Ballot Measures we are pleased to welcome back guest speakers Anne Hoiberg and Cody Petterson, who will explain the pros and cons and field questions from members. Bring your sample ballots or voter guides with you and check off your decisions as we go along. Feel free to invite friends and neighbors who are looking for some partisan Democratic guidance. November 24 – Judging

Out of all local races, judge positions are often the hardest to research and understand. Judges aren’t identified on a ballot by party preference, and their professional history often makes it difficult to determine how they would side in precedent-creating cases. How can you tell if you’re electing a judge with Democratic values? At our meeting on Sunday, Octoberer 27, 2019, Point Loma & Ocean Beach Dems will consider endorsing a candidate for Assembly District 78. This district includes all of Point Loma and Ocean Beach and is currently held by Todd Gloria. Read more about the demographics of the 78th here. It’s summertime – which means this month’s ‘Meeting’ is a social affair with our Annual Summer Potluck and fundraising for the Western Service Workers Association and their Back-to-School Drive. Sunday August 25, 2019 –  3:30-5:30PM  Please invite your friends and potential members to attend and meet fellow Democrats and elected officials, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
