September 22 – County Board of Supervisors District 1 Endorsement Meeting

At our meeting on Sunday, September 22, 2019, Point Loma & Ocean Beach Dems will consider endorsing a candidate for County Board of Supervisors District 1. This district includes the part of Point Loma/Sunset Cliffs that is approximately south of Point Loma Avenue and Canon Street including Shelter Island. Additionally, this is an important opportunity for us to provide support for another progressive voice on the County Board of Supervisors. You will hear from the candidates in person during a moderated forum. Please read up on the candidates and bring your questions. 78th Assembly District Election Meeting

The Assembly District Election Meetings (ADEMS) are held every two years to elect 7 “self-identified female” and 7 “other than self-identified female” to be Assembly District Delegates (ADDs) to represent the Assembly District they are registered as a Democrat in.   AD Delegates are elected this January, by you! Several Point Loma Democratic Club members are running in their Districts (check all candidates here) and would welcome your support. It’s a lot of fun, and you can bring your friends. You have to be a registered Democrat to vote, but your friends can change their registration on the day at the event. Jan 13 – Party Chair Candidate Discussion

We hope you enjoyed some quality downtime over the holidays and are fully revived – ready to roll for what promises to be an exciting political year! We’ve had to change the dates of our first meetings of the year at the Point Loma Assembly due to circumstances beyond our control. This Sunday, January 13th, 4pm (after the ADEM elections) meet the Candidates for Chair of the San Diego County Democratic Party, Craig Roberts and Will Rodriguez-Kennedy! The San Diego County Democratic Party is the official organization for Democrats in the fifth-largest county in the U.S. With more than 500,000 members, our local party represents the second-largest community of Democrats in California. As the local embodiment of “America’s Majority Party” for voters and candidates alike, it advances our goals through voter registration, candidate support, precinct organization, and support with fundraising and infrastructure. Nov 25 – Meet Jennifer Campbell Our Newly Elected Representative for District 2!

True to her word, Dr. Jen Campbell is coming to our first meeting after the election to listen to her community in District 2. I will listen to the concerns of our neighbors throughout District 2. My goal is to work together to improve our communities, preserve and maintain our City’s positive attributes, beautify areas that need enhancement, and bring about an even better San Diego. – Dr. Jen Campbell Come along to celebrate Jen’s election victory, and to discuss policies and priorities for her first year in office. Nathan Fletcher, our newly elected representative for the County Board of Supervisors District 4, has also been invited but at this time we’re still awaiting confirmation from his office. Oct 28 – General Meeting – Ballot Party, Propositions & Measures, Bring Your Friends and Neighbors

Election time is upon us! Vote by mail ballots started arriving this week. GO Team volunteers started walking their precincts last weekend. The voter registration deadline is October 22nd, and on Sunday October 28th we’ll be talking through the Propositions and Ballot Measures. To help us understand the State Propositions and Local Ballot Measures we have guest speakers Anne Hoiberg and Cody Petterson, who will explain the pros and cons and field questions from members. If you haven’t yet voted bring your ballots or voter guides with you and check off your decisions as we go along. Feel free to invite friends and neighbors who are looking for some partisan Democratic guidance.
