The Pacific Beach Democratic Club urges you to contact your representatives in Washington to support the Democrats efforts to slow down the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice to replace the retiring Anthony Kennedy.
Senator Dianne Feinstein and other Democrat leaders want the Senate to apply the “McConnell Standard”, which Mitch McConnell used to block Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland, citing the need to wait for the people to “weigh in” with their votes in the 2016 election.
In 2016, the Republican controlled Senate stalled Barack Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court for nearly 300 days saying the American People should have a choice. Now, with 130 Days until our election, let’s tell our US Senators to follow the precedent they set and delay confirmation of any nominee until the People’s voices can be heard.
Sen. Mitch McConnell
Sen. Dianne Feinstein
Sen. Kamala Harris
